Personal highlights for Niykee include being hand-picked to join Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs, despite the turbulence over the last few years. The young producer is now fascinated by Niykee. She always tries out most recent beats. Many end up inspiring song ideas. It's only after five minutes when I'm able to determine if a particular beat is worthy of my time. After that I am able to see the concept of a whole song in my brain and I start writing. While I play the guitar on my front porch I begin writing, and words flow. The majority times, it's accomplished in about 30 minutes. While she develops her skills as a lyricist, Niykee explains that the hurt of her experiences in the past is a constant source of unimaginable inspiration. Even when she is not writing about events that were actually taking place every ache from childhood and grief over the loss of her daughter find its way into the music. The loss of my sister as well as my childhood influence the music that I compose. It's important to me to have a deep purpose to what I do.
