The reporter has reported on various sports for major publications across the globe. The journalist spent more than a decade covering the sport for The Washington Post, including tennis, football and basketball. Nichols worked for nine years at ESPN which was where she earned two Emmy Awards. She was also an integral part of ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcasts as reporter on the sidelines. After she left ESPN, her next destination was CNN as well as Turner Sports. The show she first created and hosted was her own show, Unguarded featuring Rachel Nichols, and aired every week on CNN as well as CNN International. A billion viewers viewed the show worldwide. At the time, Nichols covered TNT's NBA broadcasts which included playoffs, regular season, as well as All-Star teams. Apart from the reporting on TBS as well, she was also a reporter for golf and baseball broadcasts as well as Final Four on CBS.
